Bayside Film Festival

July 5, 2010

Uh huh. It’s that time of the year again. A Melbourne winter where it’s all about the cutest beanies, biggest coats, coffee till our livers ache and fatty goulashes. That could just be us at Stockies Elsternwick, but I doubt it! It is also time for cinema-goers to indulge in some quality local Australian film at the Bayside Film Festival.

Curated by the exotically named Amadeo Marquez Perez and named Tales By The Sea, the programme includes highlights such as:

Opening Night features two World premieres Jyoti and The Songs They Sang, which explore the resilience of the human spirit in the face of profound adversity. Also being presented is the Australian premier of The Betrayal, 2009 Oscar nominee for Best Documentary, which will screen on closing night.

The festival tickets start at $10, and the films are screened at the Palace Brighton Bay, Brighton.
