It’s A Toy Story

July 6, 2010

It’s a Toy Story in our very own neighbourhood, as the Caulfield Toy Library is pushed to the maximum.

According to the Caulfield Leader, the Caulfield Toy Library has become a victim of its own popularity. What a corking idea, to have your children be able to borrow toys as opposed to constantly buying pieces that they may swiftly grow out of.  The Toy Library is now appealing to the Glen Eira Council for funding so that it can expand, and store its contents safely.

There are currently 300 families that use the services of the library, and 2500 toys for their use.  Mrs Arthur, the library president, now says that the library is packed to the rafters and is an occupational health and safety risk. Mayor Steven Tang suggested that the library could deal with the issue by removing some of the stock, purchased to service the community.

Make sense to you? Are you a family that uses the well-loved Caulfield Toy Library? If so, we’d love to hear about your experiences and how your children have enjoyed it.
