It’s Shir Madness!

July 23, 2010

Feeling the wintery chill of Melbourne in your bones? I know it’s hard to drag yourself away from the joy that is Elsternwick and Caulfield – but when you combine fabbo Jewish music with the sunny and pleasant Sydney you’re onto a winner!

This August, Bondi Pavilion will play host to the inaugural ‘Shir Madness’ Sydney Jewish Music Festival! Featuring both Jewish music and Jewish musicians, approximately 40 acts on 4 stages will showcase some of today’s best Jewish music.

Artists include Deborah Conway and Willy Zwieger (inset), Fourplay and Monsieur Camembert. There is a huge diversity in jewish music represented at Shir Madness, with everything from more traditional klezmer through to rap, reggae and punk.

If you are ready to feast there is an array of kosher foods on offer including ‘Challah for Charity’.

Besides, how can you resist a festival that has a stage called ‘World Jewbillee Stage’. Impossible!
