Elsternwick Residents Reject High Rise

July 28, 2010

The Caulfield Leader has reported that  the proposed 10-storey apartment complex on the corner of Ripon Grove and Glenhuntly Road has been roundly criticized by the local community as a ‘repulsive eyesore’.

Contour Consultants lodged the plans with the Glen Eira City Council, with a proposal for 150 apartments, including the conversion of a church into units also. Mr Peter Wait, a resident of Sinclair Street for 16 years, says that the height of the proposed development will impact on their privacy as a neighbourhood.

Are you a local business on Glenhuntly Road? Do you think this new development will enhance the neighbourhood, or do you think that it will be architecturally out of synch? We’d love to hear your opinion.
